Description

Nutrison Energy is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Nutrison Energy is a 1.5kcal/ml tube feed for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition in patients with increased energy and protein requirements and/or requiring fluid restriction.

Suitable as a sole source of nutrition for adults and children over 6 years of age.

Indications and Prescribability

For enteral use only. GMS listed. ACBS approved, prescribable on form FP10 for the following indications: short bowel syndrome; intractable malabsorption; preoperative preparation of undernourished patients; inflammatory bowel disease; total gastrectomy; dysphagia; bowel fistulae; disease related malnutrition.

Contraindications

Not for intravenous use. Not suitable for infants under 1 year of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia.

Precautions

Use with caution in children aged 1 - 6 years.

Directions for Use

Shake well before opening immediately prior to use at room temperature. Maximum hanging time 24 hours.

Product Storage

Store in a cool, dry place (5-25°C) and away from direct sunlight. Once opened, store in a refrigerator (<5°C) if not being used and any unused contents discarded after 24 hours.

Glass bottle: 15 months; Pack: 12 months.
