Corporate Responsibility (CR)
Our responsibilities go beyond solutions in medical nutrition.
Corporate social responsibility
(CSR) is about conducting business in a responsible way. At Nutricia
we achieve this through our commitment to supporting each other and
working together with both local and national partners.
Siel Bleu
Founded in Strasbourg, France in
1997, Siel Bleu is a solution to inactive aging. Their expert
physical trainers deliver life enhancing exercise programmes for
older adults and adults living with chronic disease. Siel Bleu
focuses on exercises of daily living to improve participants’
physical, social and mental well-being.
“Let’s add life to years and
years to life” – Siel Bleu’s motto
Siel Bleu first established a
presence in Ireland in 2010. Their expansion has been significantly
accelerated through a sustainability grant of €270,000 provided by
Nutricia and the Danone Ecosystem fund between 2012 and 2014. This
fund was used to recruit a National Development Officer and physical
trainers across Ireland to deliver Adapted Physical Activity
programmes in nursing homes, day care centres , with community
groups/patient advocacy groups and one-to-one in private homes.
Today in Ireland, Siel Bleu employs
19 staff members and delivers their exercise classes to 3,000 adults
on a weekly basis. More information on Siel Bleu can be obtained from
their website: www.sielbleu.ie
By partnering with Siel Bleu, we at
Nutricia have been able to combine our “eating well” message with
their commitment to “moving well” and together we can more
effectively communicate the key elements of “ageing well”.
"Supporting Life" Initiative
LauraLynn Children’s Hospice
supports children with life-limiting conditions from birth to 18
years. Originally founded in 1925, the services of LauraLynn have
evolved to reflect the changing needs of children and their families.
LauraLynn currently provides high quality palliative care and
symptom management, short breaks in and out of home, transitional,
crisis and end-of-life care. They also provide a wide range of
practical, emotional and well-being supports for families, with a
holistic approach enabling them to care for the family as a whole.
At Nutricia Medical we are proud to
support both national and international charities as part of our
“Supporting Life” initiative through fund-raising and
volunteering activities and we are honoured to have LauraLynn as our
charity partner.
