Calogen Neutral

Calogen is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Calogen is a high energy (4.5kcal/ml), long chain triglyceride (LCT) fat emulsion. Calogen can be used to supplement or fortify the diet of patients who are unable to meet their energy requirements from regular dietary intake. Calogen is suitable for patients requiring electrolyte restrictions, can be used to replace milk in protein restricted diets and can be used as an energy enhancer in tube feeds and oral nutritional supplements.

Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia.

Use with caution in children under 6 years of age. Must be used under medical supervision. Only to be used as a supplement to the normal diet or in conjunction with other oral nutritional supplements containing vitamins and minerals.

Shake well before opening. Dosage should be determined by a clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient. The recommended daily dose is 3 x 30ml unless specified by a clinician or dietitian. Can be taken undiluted or diluted with milk or water. It can also be mixed into foods. It may need to be diluted for children under 5 years of age.

Vegetable oils (rapeseed oil, sunflower oil), demineralised water, emulsifier (citric acid esters of mono and diglycerides of fatty acids).

12 months. Best before date: see side of bottle.

Store in a cool, dry place (5-25°C) and away from direct sunlight. Once opened, close the bottle and store in a refrigerator for a maximum of 14 days. Calogen is not suitable for freezing. Always replace lid after use.
